Utica (WSYR-TV) – Utica Police have released new information on their investigation into the remains of an infant that were found in the Mohawk River.
According to police, an autopsy indicates that the remains of Levon Wameling, who was the subject of a search spanning three months, had a one-inch skull fracture.
They have not indicated whether the injury directly led to the child’s death.
The infant’s father, Jevon Wameling, reported him missing in June.
At the time, he told police the child had disappeared two weeks earlier.Jevon Wameling is in custody on charges unrelated to the infant’s death
– including drug and burglary charges.
