Veteran educator to serve as Liverpool’s interim superintendent
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Liverpool Central School Board will appoint a longtime educator as its acting superintendent during a meeting tonight.
Edmund “Pete” Backus will be appointed to man the post for Richard Johns, who is currently on medical leave.
Johns is set to retire on July 1.
Backus has worked as the superintendent for the Hamilton School District and, before that, he worked as interim superintendent in Hannibal.
Liverpool is still working to choose Johns’ permanent replacement. They hope to find that replacement by June 1.
