Fairport (WSYR-TV) – Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a woman who they say moved out of her Lyons trailer and left a dog and cat to die there without food or water.

According to Sheriff’s Investigators, 42-year-old Cynthia Scheithauer moved out of the Lyons trailer in the Canal Side Trailer Park months ago when she left for the Rochester-area suburb of Fairport.

Sheriff’s Deputies and an animal cruelty investigator found the dead animals in the trailer, which was still owned by Scheithauer.

The Sheriff’s Office charged Scheithauer with two counts of animal cruelty for failure to provide proper sustenance.

She was issued an appearance ticket and released. She is scheduled to return to Town of Lyons Court at a later date.
