Have you been waiting for your New York State tax refund? Many people have been calling and e-mailing the NewsChannel 9 newsroom asking if the state is having problems.

The state says there is not.

The State Tax Department says by the end of this week, they'll have sent out roughly 1,037,000 tax returns worth a total of roughly $805 million.

At this time last year, the Tax Department sent out roughly 1,100,000 tax returns worth a total of $909 million.

If you want to find out when you're getting your refund, head to this link:

You need your Social Security Number and the estimated amount of return.

If you think your refund is taking longer than normal, chances are it's because 1) You're not getting it direct deposited or 2) You made an error.

Even the smallest errors, like a wrong middle initial or wrong digit in your social-security number can cause a delay.
