Woman critically injured in Lakeshore Road accident identified

Cicero (WSYR-TV) - The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office has identified the woman involved in a serious accident in the town of Cicero on Monday.

Authorities say 42-year-old Karen Hoyt, of Van Antwerp Road, was critically injured in the single vehicle crash shortly before 2 p.m. near the near the intersection of Lakeshore Road and Ontario Avenue.

Sheriff's Investigators say the woman was speeding before her vehicle struck a guard rail and flipped over, coming to a rest on its roof in an embankment approximately 120 feet from the road.

Hoyt had to be extricated from the vehicle at the scene and was taken to Upstate University Hospital.

No charges have been filed.
