MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey woman who was struck in the face with a baseball at a Little League game is suing the young catcher who threw it.

Elizabeth Lloyd is seeking $153,000 to cover medical costs stemming from the incident at a Manchester Little League game two years ago.

Her lawyer, Riaz Mian, tells the Asbury Park Press the suit was filed after attempts to reach a settlement with insurance companies failed.

Lloyd says she was sitting at a picnic table 5 feet from the fenced-in bullpen when the 45-year-old was hit by the ball and sustained multiple fractures.

Catcher Matthew Migliaccio was 11 years old at the time and was warming up a pitcher. The 13-year-old tells the newspaper he overthrew the pitcher and wasn't horsing around.
