If you're a renter and having trouble with your landlord, the Fair Housing Council of Central New York may be able to help.  Know your rights, you can not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status and
disability. If you feel you've been subjected to discrimination call 471-0420

The Greater Syracuse Tenants Network advocates on behalf of low-income tenants primarily those who live in state and federaly assisted housing. Click here for a copy of their "Tenants' Rights" handbook.

If you're thinking of purchasing a home, the Attorney General has these home buying tips.  There are plenty of legitimate agencies willing to walk you through the lending process.    But beware of predatory lending offers...and advance fee 'loan sharks'.   Make sure you shop around.  Interest rates vary widely.
