1 in custody after Oxford Street Inn stabbing

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Syracuse man was arrested Thursday evening after a stabbing outside of a men’s shelter on the city’s Southwest side.

James Norway, 30, turned himself in to police after the incident, which was reported around 5:25 p.m.

Police charged Norway with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

The victim was cut on the head and on the left bicep. Police expected the victim to be okay.

Witnesses told NewsChannel 9 that the two men were arguing over money.
