1 taken to hospital in Oswego fire

Oswego (WSYR-TV) – One person was transported to the hospital for treatment as a result of a fire in Oswego early Thursday morning.

The Oswego Fire Department responded to the fire in the 100 block of West 8th Street around 1:05 a.m.

When they arrived, fire personnel found the lone resident and a dog outside the home.

The resident was treated for smoke inhalation at a local medical center.

Two neighbors were evacuated, but they have since returned to their homes.

After trying to fight the fire from within, but the crews were called out after approximately 20 minutes after part of the roof collapsed.

The fire was brought under control from the outside after 45 minutes, according to fire officials.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
