12-year-old charged with arson in Elk Street fire

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse police say a fire in the 100 block of Elk Street Thursday was intentionally set.

According to Sergeant Tom Connellan a 12-year-old who lived at the home and escaped the blaze has been charged with arson.

The child’s identity will not be released due to his age. He will be prosecuted in Family Court, according to police.

No one was hurt in the fire, but the second floor of the home suffered some serious damage.
