Utica (WSYR-TV) -- Levon Wameling of Utica has been missing since May 29, 2013. On Saturday evening, people commemorated his first birthday, while raising money to help in the search to find him.
For $1, people could buy a Happy Birthday balloon for a balloon release that was held in front of 748 Jay Street. That address is the last place baby Levon was seen."If he is out there, anywhere, no matter how far the balloons go, if he is on a front porch or being walked, he can just look up and there's a balloon for him," said Levon's mother, Amy Warney.
T-shirts were also sold for $10 for adults and $8 for children.
Part of the proceeds will go to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The rest will help fund a reward for information that leads to the baby's whereabouts.
Three months ago, police began looking for Levon after his father reported that the child was taken from the front porch of 748 Jay Street.
Police have no suspects in the case, but Warney believes Levon's father Jevon may have answers. Jevon was not at the event, but Warney said he was invited.
