Paris, Oneida Co. (WSYR-TV) – Two Syracuse University students were killed, and two others hurt in a one car crash Tuesday night on Route 12 in the Oneida County Town of Paris.

Two passengers  in the vehicle, Saem Oh, 19, of Hauppauge, Long Island and Wang Young Gun, 19, of Norwood, New Jersey were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

The driver, 19-year-old Hyun Sung Chang of Duluth, GA and a rear-seat passenger, Chaewan Shin, 19, of Newton, New Hampshire were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Both were first-year students in the School of Architecture

Sheriff's investigators say the four college students were northbound on Route 12 just before 9pm Tuesday night, when the car went off the road and crashed into an embankment and then struck several trees.

Sheriff’s Deputies say all four had left Syracuse earlier in the evening and were traveling to the New York City area. It’s not known at this time why they were on Route 12 or the route that they had taken from Syracuse.

The accident remains under investigation.
