Cortland (WSYR-TV) – Cortland Police have arrested three men who they say were involved in a gang assault that sent a man to the hospital.

The victim was found in a Groton Avenue parking lot, unconscious and bleeding heavily.

The 18-year-old SUNY Cortland student was taken to Cortland Regional Medical Center and then transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse where he is listed in stable condition.

Police quickly found the three suspects and charged them with first-degree gang assault and second-degree assault, both felonies.

Richard Renck, 19; Wayne Harris, 19; and Malik Abdur-Rasheed, 18, are all listed as residents at 36 Fairview Dr., Apt. B, Dryden. They are students at Tompkins-Cortland Community College.

The trio was taken to the Cortland County Correctional Facility where they were held on $10,000 cash bail or $25,000 bond. In addition, they were all suspended from school.
