$400-million Powerball winner comes forward, decides to remain anonymous
Columbia, SC (WSYR-TV) - The winner of last week's staggering $400-million Powerball jackpot has come forward.
The new millionaire has chosen to remain anonymous, but it is know that he is from the Columbia, South Carolina area.
The man told lottery officials it was only his second time playing the Powerball.
He says his wife asked him to pick up hotdog buns, but the store didn't have any so he put the money towards lottery tickets instead.
If he chooses to take the lump-sum of cash, he'll receive $223-million.
