Hood County, Texas (CNN/ABC/WSYR-TV) - In the daylight, crews are getting a look at the damage from powerful storms that ripped through north Texas.
The National Weather Service estimates as many as ten tornadoes, some as big as a mile wide, skipped across the area.
Granbury was one of the hardest hit places and Cleburne has been declared a local disaster by its mayor.
At least six people were killed in a Granbury Habitat for Humanity neighborhood. Seven people are still unaccounted for.
Authorities say about 100 others were injured, and more than 100 homes were flattened.
Schools have cancelled classes because of the widespread damage and loss of property.
According to utility officials, about 20,000 homes and businesses in north Texas have lost power.
