81-year-old North Country man arrested on sex abuse charges
Lowville (WSYR-TV) -- An 81-year-old Port Leyden man is facing sex charges after allegedly subjecting a girl under the age of 11 to sexual contact on at least two separate occasions.
State Police in Lowville arrested Emerson M. Wood on Thursday. He’s been charged with sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say the charges stem from an incident that occurred at his residence in the 3400 block of North Pearl Street earlier this month.
Wood is being held at the Lewis County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
