82-year-old Canastota man dies in Sullivan crash
Sullivan (WSYR-TV) -- State Police are investigating a crash that killed an 82-year-old Canastota man in the town of Sullivan Thursday afternoon.
Police say Charles G. Stevens was traveling southbound on Lakeport Road, south of Smith Ridge Road, when his 2000 Chevy pickup truck left the roadway, struck a culvert and some small trees before overturning into a nearby stream.
Stevens was taken to Upstate Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
An investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call state police in Oneida at 366-6000 or Sullivan at 687-6050.
