High pressure is centered near South Bend, Indiana this evening but is really just the center of a sprawling dry, cool air mass. This air mass extends east all the way to the East Coast. This air mass will dominate our weather for rest of the work week. That means mainly clear nights and mostly sunny days.
Initially, this air mass is a bit cool for this time of year but a couple of days of sunshine will warm the air over us. We expect a steady rise in temperatures over the next couple of days so by midweek we will actually be back above normal with temperatures in the 80s. This above normal air will be with us through the end of the week.
Late in the week or early this weekend a cold front is forecast to drop southeast into the Northeast. There is some debate as to when the cold front actually arrives and when any scattered showers or thunderstorms may occur. This means the forecast for the very end of the work week and the weekend may change a bit as we get closer. In the meantime, enjoy the great weather this week!
