We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.  It wasn't a record breaker but temperatures rose into the mid 50s.  If you are up early shopping or getting ready to shop we have a reversal -- some wet snow.  Our Friday morning weather map is looking pretty close to what we were thinking a couple of days ago.  Low pressure is strengthening southeast of Cape Cod headed up into eastern New England.  Remember that upper level storm and steadier precipitation I mentioned Wednesday? Well, it's right over us Friday morning. At my place in Fayetteville I've had wet snow the last hour (5-6 am) and there is a solid coating on grassy surfaces.  At times the last few days the computer models tried to put this snow over us but they were a bit inconsistent; some model runs had it farther south over Pennsylvania.  The bottom line Friday morning is this area of steady snow is slowly on the move to the northeast. Also, I expect that once the steady snow shifts east our temperatures will rise a few degrees.  Most if not all of the snow today will melt on the roads.

Speaking of snow, there are now some winter weather advisories up over Northern New York and New England as the coastal storm gets cranked up.  Our biggest concern later today and especially tonight will be the increase in wind as the storm strengthens.  There is a wind advisory up for most of central New York and there could be some wind gust past 40 mph.

Finally there is still of window of opportunity for lake effect snow tonight and early Saturday.  As Kyle said on The Morning News there could be a couple of inches of snow southeast of Lake Ontario.  However, the air aloft will be warming so the snow should be winding down by early in the afternoon.
