LIVERPOOL, NY (WSYR-TV) - Thinking about getting a tattoo? This would be the weekend to do it. The AM-JAM Tattoo Expo is back in Central New York this weekend.
Now in its 26th year, the event brings together local artists and plenty more from all over the country.
Amy Nicoletto from the TV show “LA Ink” made a special appearance on Saturday.
She told NewsChannel 9 that shows like hers have been a big boost to the tattoo trend.
“You know it makes people that have always been, you know, pretty much scared of what people would think of them, to get a tattoo that they’ve secretly always wanted. Now I see a lot more people in their 50’s and 60’s getting their first tattoo’s so to me I think that’s pretty cool,” said Nicoletto.
The tattoo artists also competed in categories like Best Portrait, Best Dragon Tattoo and Best Sleeve, to name a few.
The expo continues until midnight on Saturday and from noon to 6p.m. on Sunday.
