Oswego County (WSYR-TV) -- Oswego County completed aerial spraying for mosquitoes Tuesday night in the Big Bay and Toad Harbor Swamp areas.
Spraying took place at around 6:45 p.m. and covered 10,000 acres. The county did not spray over Oneida Lake.
A notice was sent to residents in each target area within 20 minutes of the decision to spray through the Oswego County Hyper-Reach Broadcast Notification Service.
The automated calls primarily reached those residents with landlines or those who had registered their cellular phones.
The county started the push to spray after Eastern Equine Encephalitis, or EEE, was recently found.
Last year, a 4-year-old girl died from the virus.
