The phone will be available September 21.
The company announced the iPhone 5 will have a taller screen than every previous version of the iPhone. The new model will allow for an extra row of icons, and let you play widescreen 16x9 videos using the full screen.
It will also support 4G LTE cell phone networks, which allow for faster data speeds. LTE is available from both Verizon Wireless and AT&T Wireless in the Syracuse area.
Many competing phones have had similar features for more than a year.
