Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Some of you have been waiting for months for the highly anticipated iPhone 5. While Apple isn’t confirming anything yet, the new phone is expected to be unveiled on Tuesday. Already, people are buzzing and speculating on what the latest Apple device will be like.
Though it hasn’t hit store shelves, predictions and even pictures of what could be coming are all over blogs and social media sites.
“People want to get in on the conversation; they want to be a part of the excitement,” said one Apple fan.
No one is more excited than die hard Apple fans like Chelsea Olcutt, who swears by her iPhone.
“My life is on here. My schedule is on here, my contacts, a lot of info, my email,” said Olcutt.
But already she’s looking ahead and has her wish list for the next iPhone.
She says faster Internet would be a plus.
Among some of the other predictions for the new iPhone: a better battery, new body style and a bigger screen to compete with the bigger ones found on Android phones. These are all things we might find out about next week.
“They’re cryptic, Apple that is, about exactly when it’s going to be…they haven’t said for sure,” said SU social media manager Kelly Lux.
Some say that’s been part of Apple’s marketing strategy all along, creating even more hype for a company that has a proven track record.
“There's quite a history of Apple releasing products that are groundbreaking, iPad, iPhone, when it first came out with the touch screen,” Lux said.
NewsChannel 9 reached out to Verizon and AT&T to see when the phone might be available to buy. We were told either they can’t comment or our questions were referred to Apple. Apple, of course, is staying tight-lipped, too.
