Auburn (WSYR-TV) – An Auburn manufacturer broke ground Thursday on an expansion project that it believes could expand its workforce by 50 positions.

Currier Plastics, which manufactures molded plastics such as shampoo bottles and tops, announced the expansion in the spring.

At the time, company officials said the expansion will create new jobs and also help it retain 100 positions that would have been lost had the company moved.

$2 million in state aid helped keep the company in Auburn.
