Autopsy planned Tuesday to determine fire victim's cause of death

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - An apartment fire left one woman dead on Sabine Street in Syracuse Sunday night.

Officials have not yet released the woman's identity, nor have they determined an exact cause of death.

Her identity and cause of death should be released following an autopsy that is scheduled for Tuesday, officials said.

The fire broke out just before 10:00 on Sunday night in the five-apartment home at 113/115 Sabine Street.

When firefighters arrived, some residents were walking out of the building on their own; others had to be helped out by firefighters.

Fire investigators say the fire started in the kitchen of the apartment.
