Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Weedsport infant born with a painful and unusual skin condition is back in the hospital after losing consciousness Sunday evening.

A post from Easton Friedel’s aunt on a Facebook page supporting the child said he was rushed to the emergency room after he seemed to be hyperventilating and turned blue.

The post said he had Rhinovirus and Coronavirus and the family was waiting on results from blood cultures. A post Monday morning said they had no additional updates.

Baby Easton suffers from Epidermolysis Bullosa. Children who suffer from it are often called “Butterfly babies,” as the condition leaves their skin as fragile as the tissue of a butterfly's wings.

The Central New York community rallied around the child from Weedsport and raised tens of thousands of dollars to help him.
