Weedsport (WSYR-TV) -- A local baby with a rare skin condition has been transferred out-of –state to get more specialized care.

NewsChannel 9 first told you about baby Easton Friedel earlier this week. Baby Easton suffers from a condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa, or EB. It’s a painful condition where the skin is raw, blistered and missing in some areas. Doctors say most babies died from infection before their first birthday.

Easton’s mom says he was transferred to a hospital in Ohio where a specialized team will be able to better care for him.

The community has raised more than $50,000 for the family. The money will go to a lifelong need of bandages and supplies, specialists and research.
