Brewerton man accused of arson in garage fire

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Brewerton man is facing arson and burglary charges after Sheriff’s Deputies accused him of lighting a garage on fire.

According to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old Charles Bliss broke into a garage on Cazenovia Road in the town of Pompey and set a fire on Saturday.

When several fire crews arrived on the scene, they found the garage engulfed in flames. It took hours for firefighters to extinguish the flames.

In addition to the building, the fire destroyed two vehicles.

Bliss was arrested and charged with arson in the third degree and burglary in the third degree, both felonies.

He was arraigned in Town of Pompey Court and taken to the Justice Center with no bail.
