Brother charged with murder in stabbing at suburban Rochester Indian restaurant
Henrietta (WSYR-TV) – The brother of the victim in a deadly stabbing at an Indian restaurant in suburban Rochester has been charged with second degree murder.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said that when they responded to the Thali of India restaurant on Tuesday morning, they found Ahmed Jawed Mohammad-Askar covered in blood in the parking lot.
Sheriff’s Investigators determined that the Mohammed-Askar had fatally stabbed his brother, Mohamed Ghulam, inside the restaurant.
Mohammed-Askar and Ghulam are both from Afghanistan.
He was arraigned in Henrietta Town Court and taken to the Monroe County Jail where is being held without bail.
He is scheduled to return to court on Monday at 9 a.m.
