Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- The Syracuse Fire Department has contained a brush fire along some railroad tracks behind Alliance Bank Stadium.

The fire was reported at around 2:45 Wednesday afternoon. Crews on scene say they had to work with CSX to hold up some of the trains so crews could safely battle the fire.

A fire department spokesperson also told NewsChannel 9 that the fire was difficult to get to and nowhere near a fire hydrant so they had to use an airport truck to truck in water to fight the fire.

Smoke from the fire could be seen billowing into the air from NewsChannel 9's Towercam.

No injuries have been reported and no structures were ever in danger.
