Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse’s Hancock International Airport faces some changes as lawmakers Duke it out on Capitol Hill.

To prepare for the possible budget sequestration next week, the FAA wants to reduce expenditures by about $600-million. They’re proposing furloughs for the vast majority of workers, as well as eliminating overnight shifts at Hancock Airport.

Also part of the plan is closing air traffic control towers at Ithaca and Griffis airports in Rome. The changes aren’t finalized yet. The FAA is still talking it over with the union.
