Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Last year, doctors treated more than 4,600 Halloween-related injuries, according to the CSPC.
Injuries included falls from ill-fitting costumes, cuts from pumpkin carving and life-threatening vehicle impacts from crossing the road.
The CDC hopes to head off many of these preventable mishaps with their collection of tips for safe trick-or-treating.
These include making sure your costume makes you visible to drivers, avoiding eye injury from decorative contact lenses and making sure your costume doesn't obstruct your vision.
