SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - WWE superstar CM Punk was named
"Dude of the Week" by New York’s Daily News after he surprised shooting victim and CBA baseball coach Tom Dotterer in the hospital last week.
Dotterer, a big wrestling fan, was shot in the eye during a robbery at his liquor store in January.
The WWE arranged a meet-and-greet with Dotterer and Punk before its event at the War Memorial in Syracuse.
Dotterer though, was admitted back into the hospital for emergency surgery the day before and wasn’t able to make it, so Punk surprised him at the hospital.
Dotterer was released from University Hospital a few days ago.
