Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – With the season of good food and giving underway, a Central New York food blogger is offering suggestions for people who want to keep their money in the area.

Eat First blogger Margaret McCormick is visiting the Bridge Street studio to introduce NewsChannel 9 viewers to some local treats included in her “East First Central New York Holiday Gift Guide.”

The items she takes a look at range from vendors such as Lune Chocolate in Manlius to Lockwood Lavender Market:
  • Better Brittle: locally made West African nut brittle
  • Pino's Press artisan olive oils
  • Greenview Kitchen Roasted Garlic Pasta Sauce (made locally by Giovanni Food Co.)
  • Lee's Bees Honey (bees raised by Maine’s corporate chef Eamon Lee; honey is from several yards in Onondaga and Madison County, this product is about as local as it gets)
  • Keuka Lake Coffee Roasters grilling rub/rubs
  • Seneca Salt Co. infused culinary flake salt (I think it's infused with rosemary; I have some plain, also)
  • Lockwood Lavender Fudge Sauce
  • Hercules Candy Co. (East Syracuse candy canes)
  • City Dining Cards (discounts for oodles of locally owned restaurants; sleek little box)
For more information, visit McCormick's blog.
