Jamesville (WSYR-TV) -- A Jamesville business owner really wants to know who smashed several parts of his fence this week, causing thousands of dollar in damage. Pro Scapes owner Rick Kier has even put up a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.
Kier says there’s no question this was no accident.
"They hit the fence in four different spots. The fence has been here for three or four years now and we haven't had any damage to it anywhere. In one night it’s damaged in four sections,” Keir told NewsChannel 9.
Kier says it happened sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. There are tire tracks on the ground and a couple on part of the damaged fence. Kier says it’s disappointing to think someone would purposely try to ruin the fence, which stretches about 3,000 feet around his property.
"We just wanted to make it look good for the neighborhood. We planted some trees here and we've maintained it so it looks nice and attractive and it’s discouraging to have somebody come along and damage it like this,” Kier continued.
Kier says he really wants to find whoever did it so they don’t do it to another person's property. He says they’ll rebuild, even though they’re not a fence company.
"If somebody's trying to prove how macho they are against a vinyl fence…it’s not really much of a contest and they're just showing their level of intelligence,” Kier said.
The Sheriff’s Office has already been out to inspect the damage. If you have any information about this case, call the Sheriff’s Office at 435-3051.
