Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Central New York’s Jamie Otis, a 25-year-old registered nurse from Dryden, was eliminated from ABC’s hit reality show “The Bachelor” during Monday night’s episode.
NewsChannel 9 caught up with Otis on Tuesday to talk about her time on the show and how she really felt about Ben.
Otis made it through to week six of The Bachelor and though she didn’t get a lot of TV time, she tells us she spent plenty of time with Ben. It apparently just wasn’t dramatic enough to make it on the air. During Monday’s show, the producers put the pressure on the girls to really let Ben know how they felt.
“I was the only girl who hadn’t kissed Ben and I was very reserved with him and I wanted to maintain my dignity the whole time,” Otis said.
Otis says the only regret she has is that she wasn’t honest with Ben about her past, growing up in a trailer park and raising her siblings alone.
As for Courtney, Otis told NewsChannel 9, “He didn’t see how she treated the other girls and therefore... he felt bad for her. I think Courtney is there because Ben really likes Courtney... I think she has a way with men... It’s a sexual attraction they have.”
As for the show, Jamie says it’s real; the drama, the relationships and the opportunity to find love. It just didn’t happen for her.
“My goal wasn't to stay on the show... it was to see if I had a connection with Ben,” Jamie continued.
In a blog written by Ben about last night’s episode, he called Otis one of the “sweetest, most sincere women [he’s] ever met and [he] hopes she finds a man ready to go from zero to sixty with her.”
You can watch the rest of Ben’s journey on “The Bachelor” every Monday night at 8 p.m. on NewsChannel 9.
