‘Cash mob’ encourages people to buy local
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Most of us have heard the term “flash mob,” but how about a "cash mob?" It’s a special event to encourage people to buy local products.
Through social media clues, people are invited to head to a local business at a specific time.
Tuesday night was the third so-called “’Cuse mob” and it took place at Nature-Tyme on Erie Boulevard, where shoppers were encouraged to spend ten bucks or more. Shoppers were also given a 10 percent discount for showing up.
