Auburn (WSYR-TV) – Auburn police have arrested the man Caught on Tape robbing a convenience store Monday night.
Police say 17-year-old Joel Ayers, of Moravia, went into the Kwik Fill on State Street with a knife and demanded the money in the cash register.
After seeing the photos and a description of the suspect, a state trooper called Auburn police and said the suspect may have been Ayers; by Wednesday night, he was under arrest.
Ayers was arraigned Thursday in Auburn City Court and sent to Cayuga County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.

Auburn (WSYR-TV) – Auburn Police are on the lookout for a man accused of threatening a clerk with a knife before robbing the Kwik Fill on State Street in Auburn. A surveillance camera caught several pictures of the suspect.
The robbery happened around 11:30pm on Monday night (June 29th.) The store clerk reported that a white male had entered the store with a large knife demanding the money in the register.
Police say the clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk said the suspect ran off in a north east direction towards the Genesee Garden Apartments.
Police say the clerk was not injured during the robbery.
The clerk said the suspect had some type of black cloth covering his head and was described as being approximately 5’7” - 5’8” tall, and weighed about 150-170 lbs. with a thin build, light skin tone, wearing a black baggie short sleeve shirt and black basketball style shorts that were just over the knee in length. The shorts also appeared to have a white stripe with red trim on the outside lower leg area of the shorts. The suspect was also wearing white sneakers.
