Cazenovia (WSYR-TV) - More than 2,200 shoes hit the pavement in Cazenovia Monday morning for the annual Fourth of July foot races. A new record number of runners, more than 1,100, took part in the one-mile fun run, a 5,000 meter race or a 10-mile race around Cazenovia Lake.
"Well that's really amazing. Getting up on that ladder and looking at that mass of people there. It's quite a sight," said race starter J.T. Hall. "Everybody is having a good time. It's a real pleasure to be involved with this."
This is the 39th year for the Independence Day tradition.
