Central New Yorkers taking part in ‘March for Life’ in Washington
Syracuse (WSYR-TV/AP) - Thousands from around the country will take to the streets in Washington, D.C. Friday for the National March for Life.
Joining them will be hundreds of people from Central New York who plan to have a peaceful human rights demonstration in the longest-running march for the unborn.
More than 400 Central New Yorkers traveled from Syracuse to March for Life in the nation’s capitol.
One group left late Thursday from Liverpool for a one-day trip to the march.
Their mission is to protest abortion around the anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision in the Roe vs. Wade case.
This year marks 40 years of legalized abortions in our country and people going to the march said their only mission is to show America the value of life that can never be taken away.
Thousands are expected for a noontime rally at the National Mall and in front of the Supreme Court.
National organizers say the event will feature former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum.
