Central Square Intermediate to stay open

Central Square (WSYR-TV) – The Central Square school board has decided not to close Central Square Intermediate School.

The board had considered closing the school to save money as it looked to next year’s budget.

Closing Central Square Intermediate would have impacted 377 students, resulted in layoffs for three teachers, and saved the district approximately $442,500.

While the board chose not to close the school next year, it could look at the option again in the future.
