Children survive Amish buggy, tractor trailer collision; horse euthanized

Deerfield (WSYR-TV) – An Amish buggy piloted by a 10-year-old collided with a tractor trailer on Tuesday morning in the Oneida County town of Deerfield.

The horse was euthanized on the scene.

One child was taken to a local hospital. State Police do not believe the child’s injuries are life threatening.

Two other children were on the buggy when the accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Route 8. They were not injured.

The tractor trailer driver was not injured.

Police say the buggy was turning left onto North Gage Road from Route 8 when it was struck by the tractor trailer.

Police have not released the identities of those involved in the accident. They also have not issued any tickets.
