It looks like we’ll be hard-pressed to get much more than flurries around here Saturday. Most of the day will be cloudy and chilly, with highs yet again failing to make it above 20°.  There is a possibility of some lighter snow for awhile later Saturday evening as a disturbance in the jet stream moves overhead.  This should not be a big snow maker though, since moisture amounts are forecast to be pretty measly over us. Models indicate that a band of lake effect snow will try to form southeast of Lake Ontario after sunset, but it should be shut down fairly quickly as drier air and high pressure build in.

Skies will clear out Saturday night as the high pressure starts to settle in from the west. This will give us a good chance to view the full moon. Those clear skies will also lead to yet another frigid night.  Bright sunshine will cap off the weekend, with light winds.  It’ll be a great winter day Sunday. Overall, there are no major weather issues in the weekend forecast.

We’ve got a warm-up headed our way, if only for a couple of days.  As that warmth presses our way, some light snow or a wintry mix is likely Monday.  Showers will be the rule by Tuesday, as temperatures warm into the 40s.
