Chittenango school officials investigate school threats
Chittenango (WSYR-TV) -- Chittenango school officials notified parents by phone Tuesday afternoon that the district had investigated two incidents at the high school.
Superintendent Michael Scheido says the district learned of rumors that a threat was made against the high school for Friday and posted on Facebook. Scheido says school officials determined that it was not a credible threat.
Shortly after, two students came forward to report hearing of another student who made a threat against the high school. Police were called, and Scheido says the student was taken out of the school by officers.
Scheido says the district will seek prosecution of the student to the fullest extent possible.
A call to Canastota police Tuesday night seeking the specific charges against the student was not returned.
