Baldwinsville (WSYR-TV) - Hundreds of students, parents and teachers at C.W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville spent their morning with Chris Brandolino, who finished up his month-long tour of local schools.

The students were ready to perform before 5am, when The Morning News began.

We kicked off the show with the "Company B" Vocal Jazz Group. The group was founded in 1983, and has received numerous awards and great ratings at jazz festivals across the U.S. and Canada.  They've also traveled internationally and performed in London a few years ago.

They're a regular act at the Syracuse Jazz Festival, and have enjoyed performing several times on the Mulroy Theater Stage at the Civic Center downtown.

Playing music throughout the show, was the "Plan Bee" Pep Band, led by their director, Casey Vanderstouw. The pep band is mostly comprised of members from the Marching Band who wish to continue performing non-traditional music during the "off-season."  Their goal?  To attain the highest possible performance standard while simultaneously supporting their fellow students at athletic contests, school events, etc.

It's hard to notice when watching on television, but in person, they are LOUD!

The dozen plus members of the Baker High School Drama Club performed a movement piece to the hip-hop song "Sweepstakes." "Sweepstakes" is from a script called "Up and Out," which the Club will be performing in Baker High School's Auditorium on June 11th and 12th at 7pm.

Also in attendance were the dozens of student athletes on Baldwinsville's championship sports teams. The Baldwinsville Boys Soccer team, Boys & Girls Volleyball, Football and Wrestling teams stopped in to chat.

The Football team finished the season with an 11-1 record, most for any Baldwinsville football team.  The Boys Volleyball team had an overall record of 18-1 and finished the season as CNYCL League Champions.

The Girls Varsity Volleyball team was national division champions; Section 3 Champions and State Regional Champions as well. The Boys Varsity Soccer got off to a slow start, but finished strong; the team finished the season as co-regional champions.
