Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – City leaders met in Syracuse to discuss the problem of gun violence in the community on Thursday afternoon.
Mayor Stephanie Miner was joined by Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler, along with Mothers against Gun Violence and the Trauma Response Team to present “Stop the Violence: A Discussion on Guns in our Community.”
They were joined by a special guest, actor Khalil Kain, who played Raheem in the movie “Juice,” Private Hobbs in “Renaissance Man,” and Darnell in the television series “Girlfriends.”
“Our message to our children is that they’re valuable,” said Common Councilor Helen Hudson. “And we need to keep them around and keep them breathing.”
