Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The City of Syracuse is seeking a Christmas tree that will serve as the centerpiece for its annual “Home for the Holidays Celebration” in Clinton Square.

The celebration, which features the annual tree-lighting ceremony, will take place on Friday, Nov. 23.

The city is looking for a Norway Spruce that measures at least 55 feet tall. The city also says the tree must be located near a front yard away from power lines so that it can be moved easily.

Anyone with a tree that they would like to submit for consideration should contact Steve Harris of the city’s parks and recreation department at (315) 473-4330, ext. 3014 by Friday, Oct. 19.
