Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- With summer fast approaching, the city of Syracuse is starting to get the public pools cleaned and set for opening day.
Crews are starting to make their rounds to all eight pools, painting and cleaning them before they are filled. In addition to the main entrance work, there’s a call for lifeguards.
Don’t wait until school lets out. The city says your best bet to get a position is to apply now.
“We always need lifeguards. So this is something if you’re a lifeguard and you’re out there, we want you to work for the city of Syracuse. So turn in your application today and we’ll call you very soon for an interview,” said Baye Muhammad, with the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
The job pays about $8 an hour. All eight of the city pools are set to be open by June 25.
