Clearing Tonight, Sunshine and Seasonable Tomorrow
High pressure will build into central New York from Canada tonight. That will help shut down the lake effect snow showers after this evening and allow for our skies to clear overnight. We still expect this high to control our weather tomorrow although there will still be some times of high and mid level clouds that will dim the sun. The air mass over us is fairly typical for early December and that will mean upper 30s for us during the afternoon.
Our next weather feature is a cold front that will approach us later Friday. Southerly winds ahead of the front will warm us up some but also will increase the moisture over us as well. The moisture will thicken enough that by late afternoon there could be a few showers moving into central New York. The cold front will temporarily hang up to our west as low pressure tracks northeast along it. Showers are likely on Saturday as this happens.
The cold front will move south through central New York Saturday night but will already start moving north later Sunday. This all happens as a stronger area of low pressure makes up to our west and during Monday this low should track north to the west of Buffalo. This will put us on the warm side of the storm means a breezy and mild day Monday with rain.
