Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Downtown Syracuse will be getting new parking meters.

The Syracuse Common Council unanimously approved a $2.5-million plan that will allow the city to replace all 270 of its electronic pay stations over the next three years.

The meters in place now contain outdated modems that lose the ability to process credit cards come November.
